What are Micro Loans

Micro loans are “very small” loans that are given either to existing small businesses or to start-ups that need a small “take-off” or consolidation loan.

There is a difference between regular small loans and micro loans – micro loans are typically given to very poor unemployed people who may not have a proper credit history.

These loans are mostly given to very poor entrepreneurs who have the ideas, but no money or collateral to pledge. In fact, the idea behind giving micro loans is to motivate entrepreneurs. TheseMicro loans are part of a larger micro financing concept, which also includes micro savings and insurance plans.

What is a micro loan used for?

A micro loan can be used to start a new business, for working capital, to buy raw material or office equipment or machinery. The purpose behind a micro loan must be to spur business.

Positive Youth Group Activities May Be A Good Influence

Youth group activities are designed to help kids develop their social skills while giving them something to do with their free time. It is a statistic fact that children who stay busy with plan events tend to get into less trouble than those who do not. The best part of all though is the fun that one can have participating.

It would not be very practical to just bunch together anyone who is not an adult and that is why most groups are divided into specific age ranges. The youngest of these may start as early as six or seven years old and typically go to about eleven. There may also be one for young teens and another for older teens.

Being stuck inside is not all that bad. There are still many things that can be done such as playing games or singing songs. One can even set up something called a lock in which is similar to a supervised slumber party that lasts the entire night and is lots of fun for the children.

DVNF Launches Video Sharing Community

The Disabled Veterans National Foundation (DVNF) launched the Disabled Veterans Video Sharing Community on its website, www.DVNF.org. The Disabled Veterans Video Sharing Community, or DVVSC, will allow program recipients to directly “sound off” about their experiences with Disabled Veterans National Foundation, post personal video blogs, as well as deliver news and other organization information by way of video.

“By allowing the people we serve, and those in need of our charitable goods and services, an open forum for sharing their thoughts and ideas about their growing relationship and personal experience with the Disabled Veterans National Foundation we will raise the overall public consciousness about the plight of today’s veterans,” said Prescilla Wilkewitz, president of DVNF.

Ms. Wilkewitz, a Vietnam veteran and founding member of in 44 states already, spends a large amount of time visiting with fellow veterans and listening to their concerns. But, she says, there are many more veterans who need to be heard. With this cutting-edge technology, DVNF will now be able to connect with more members of the veterans’ community.

DVNF Helps Make 2011 NJ Stand Down Event Success

Disabled Veterans National Foundation delivered approximately $157,000 worth of supplies to support the recent Stand Down event held in Newark, New Jersey.

The DVNF contribution was delivered to the New Jersey Department of Veterans Affairs which helped organize the Stand Down event that helped hundreds of the areas homeless veterans.

This Disabled Veterans National Foundation delivery included items such as blankets, water, hygiene products, clothing, hats and even cough drops.

The Stand Down helps New Jersey homeless Veterans deal with life on the streets by providing a broad range of necessities such as food, clothing, medical support, job counseling – and fellow companionship. “We at DVNF recognize these Stand Down events held around the country over the summer and fall provide an excellent forum and venue to help our homeless veterans in so many ways on one big day,” said Precilla Wilkewitz, President of Disabled Veterans National Foundation.

Why volunteer dentists are so important

In the UK people are fortunate enough to have access to dental care from the NHS which means that not only is it always possible for them to get dental care but it is also reasonably cheap. There is also the option in the UK for people to pay for private dental care if they aren’t happy with that of the NHS or if there is a fairly long waiting list at a dental surgery which is local to them. For some people around the world though neither of these are an option.

Roughly 70 per cent of the population in the world can’t reach a dentist from where they live even if they are in terrible agony. To make the situation worse a lot of these people also don’t have access to simple things like toothpaste and a toothbrush. Not having these obviously makes it extremely difficult to keep healthy teeth. Thankfully volunteer dentists are able to help people in this situation at times and supply them with the treatment which they need.

People who are suffering with cancer need as much help as they can get. Disabled Veterans National Foundation Seeks Ways Communities Can Support and Appreciate Veterans

Thermal Imaging Cameras A fire department with old thermal imaging cameras would be wise to look at buying a newer model. Existing cameras might no longer have parts and repairs that would be supported by the manufacturer. In reality, lots of occasions parts are non-existent. The batteries usually fail in at least one of the cameras at a time when it is genuinely necessary. Quite a few times, and older unit is in for repair. If this occurs simultaneously to both, then this would leaves a department with out any thermal imaging camera at all.

The objective is to have interior attack firefighter teams use the cameras. They would supply visibility to determine the fire supply and to safeguard firefighters from unseen hazards as well as indicating the temperature inside the structure. This would greatly improve the safety of our firefighters and present another resource for search and rescue operations.
